JULY 8, 2026 - COLOR MEASUREMENT AND REPRODUCTION

During the course the basics of colorimetry will be discussed and concrete cases of problems concerning the measurement, quality control and reproduction of color will be analyzed. The methods of color measurement will be described, with particular attention to instrumental variables.

The course is aimed at all those who have to deal with the issues related to the measurement and reproduction of color in the plastics sector (raw materials, masterbatches, compounds, artifacts), food and cosmetic products, paper, fabrics, paints and inks.

2. Measure and check the color. The metamery.

3. Reproducing color: practical suggestions and the possibility of instrumental recipes

4. Photophysics of color: the origin of pigment colors

5. The instrumentation and software for measurement. Spectrophotometers and colorimeters.
